Young Professionals Group

We want to invite the millennials in the City of Hoover to join the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce and work with us towards a brighter future for this City.

This group will provide a meaningful opportunity for talented and dedicated professionals 40 years and younger to unite, grow and develop the next generation of the business and civic leaders.  This group will work on an event that will raise money for our scholarship program.

Multi-Cultural Group

Because of the strong diversity in the City of Hoover the Chamber will strive to engage EVERY business in the City of Hoover and identify and explore strategies to work with Hispanic and Asian American businesses in this vibrant city.

We will begin with a conversation of leaders and chart a course early in 2019.

Economic Development Initiative

We will have a focus to further engage with existing and future businesses in the City of Hoover.

Starting in January 2019, we will be hosting a monthly Professional Development series we are calling “Pop In” Seminars.  The will be held at the Chamber offices, 3000 Riverchase Galleria, Suite 375; from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm and will be $15 per person.  Topics will range from Networking to Taxes and everything in-between!

They will be held the second Wednesday of every month.

In 2019 the Chamber will work with the City of Hoover to assist Economic Developer Greg Knighton in engaging potential industries.  The Chamber will play host to familiarization tour of Hoover and its assets for key economic development allies.

We will also be exploring the idea of Main Street Alabama and the City of Hoover working together to improve all areas of the city.

Workforce Development Initiative

The Chamber recognizes that Economic Development and Workforce Development go together.  With that thought in mind, we are going to engage with the Hoover City School system.  We are excited to work with the Riverchase Career Connection Center and further engage our future workforce.

We will begin by documenting RC3 programs and plans and communicate to Chamber members.  We want to aid the RC3 Staff in establishing industry advisory groups to represent Chamber membership.

We will also be exploring opportunities to Partner with Jefferson State for Career Readiness Opportunities.

and finally, we will be exploring the Feasibility of connecting businesses and educators in the City of Hoover through a Summer Teacher Internship Program.
